Tyrell is required to face the tribunal for an alleged king hit which left Bullioh forward Kelvin Wallace with a badly broken jaw in the final quarter of the Upper Murray grand final at Tallangatta Valley Recreation Reserve on September 8.

He received a red card immediately after the incident and was charged with careless striking. 

The strike occurred with less than 10 minutes left in the game and was reported to police after an x-ray revealed the severity of the break.

The tribunal hearing was to be arranged the following week but has been postponed on request of Federal Football Netball Club, pending police action.

“(The) tribunal won’t be heard until requested by club and (the) player is ineligible to play until such time,” AFL NEB region general manager John O’Donohue said.

Wallace’s jaw was wired shut and plates inserted during surgery lasting several hours two days after the incident.

A family member said the 23-year-old wouldn’t be able open his mouth about a fortnight after the surgery and will miss at least a month of work.

Bullioh went on to win the grand final against Federal 12.18 (90) to 9.8 (62).
