The parties met on Monday, but the issue hasn’t been resolved with further meetings scheduled this week involving Albury and Wodonga council mayors and general managers if required.
Cr Darren Cameron said he would follow up the issue even if Aligned Leisure and pool users could strike a deal.
“I don’t regard this matter as closed,” he said.
He asked for a report on the meeting between the parties and was told by director Simona Coad that it was “productive”.
“However further discussions are going to be had during the week in order to come to a resolution that meets the needs of all parties,” she said.
Aligned Leisure management has been contacted for comment as has Ovens and Murray Water Polo Association.
Albury Swimming Club president Phil Evans said the matter remained at a “stalemate” with a further meeting planned for Wednesday.
Aligned Leisure has agreed not to introduce the lane hire fee up until December 31, but from January 1 swim and water polo clubs will be charged $10 per lane per hour.
The fee will rise each year with notification of the change to be communicated in June.
