Walker and Wilson worked successfully together as coach and assistant-coach from 2013 to 2016 with the Bulldogs making an elimination, preliminary and grand final during that time.
Although Albury’s Joel Mackie and Lavington’s Luke Garland were strongly linked to the position during the season, the pair will stay with their respective Ovens and Murray clubs for another 12 months.
“It’s exciting to be getting back involved in coaching,” Wilson said.
“Luke Styles is the king of our recruiting at Jindera and he proposed the idea six or seven weeks ago.
“We thought we could make it work so I guess it’s gone from there.
“We worked really well together previously.”
Walker and Wilson will take over from Kerry Bahr who took the Bulldogs into back-to-back grand finals in his two seasons at the helm.
Wilson has been one of the Hume league’s longest serving assistant-coaches after spending six years in the position at Jindera and Henty.
He will wait until next year before deciding if he plays on.
Walker, who stepped away from coaching at the end of 2016 due to work commitments, previously played more than 100 matches for Wodonga and Mansfield.
He represented the Ovens and Murray and Goulburn Valley leagues.
“We’re pretty confident a fair bulk of the list will be on board again,” Wilson said.
“There is no big flagging of anyone departing.
“A fair crew of under-17s are coming through as well as the reserves.
“We want to consolidate our group and the signs are promising.”
Jindera will be looking to shore up its list over the next fortnight with full-forward Trent Castles set to be a priority.
Osborne is the only club yet to finalise its senior job.
