There are two vacancies to be filled, with the successful candidates to be appointed by the NSW Primary Industries Minister, Niall Blair.
Murray is one of seven regions throughout NSW seeking to fill 13 vacancies.
Local Land Services state chair, Richard Bull, said joining the Local Land Services board was an excellent opportunity to make a difference to land management in NSW.
“We’re here to make a difference, and a big part of that is drawing on the experience and talent of our board members,” he said.
“Our boards share our vision to see resilient communities in productive, healthy landscapes.”
Mr Bull, who lives at Holbrook, said Local Land Services hoped to attract candidates with a commitment to high ethical standards and teamwork and who bring unique experiences and knowledge to the local boards.
“We want diverse and dynamic boards that represent NSW communities.
“A mix of people who are able to provide strategic direction, improve service delivery and work closely with our regional communities” he said.
Mr Bull said the new staggered approach to board recruitment would mean local boards remain fresh and relevant with a rolling membership, and would reduce the risk of losing valuable skills and knowledge from the agency.
“We work with board members to make sure we’re connected to our customers in local communities, industries and businesses,” he added.
Local Land Services is on the ground, delivering agricultural production advice, biosecurity, natural resource management, emergency management, sustainable land management and soil conservation services.
“As a local board member, you’ll be working with the local staff and board to deliver on key government priorities. It’s an opportunity to be a voice for your region,” he said.
