White turned 15 in August and was a popular winner of the club’s top award after an excellent debut season.

The youngest before him was Tony Iverson in 1981 at the age of 16.

St Pats coach Phil Page was delighted for the young gun who was one of nine players to make their senior debut this season.

“It’s his visual ability, his work ethic, he can read a game really well,” Page said.

“He uplifts the others around him.

“He’d get a gig at any club realistically.

“He definitely deserves it, he’s very talented.

“I’m certainly not going to stop him if he wants to move on to bigger and better things.”

The experienced Andy Stevens was runner-up.

“Andy is consistent, he does the job and provides that leadership on the park as well,” Page added.

Page has committed to another year as coach and will look to build on a challenging 2018 campaign which yielded just two draws.

Meanwhile, senior women’s captain Claire Mahoney was a deserved winner of the best and fairest.

Mahoney finished ahead of goalkeeper Natasha Anderson who experienced a breakout season.
