Picked from trials in Ballarat last week, the Border exports have earned selection into the 2019 Southern Cross Challenge and Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup.
The Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup will be held at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre and Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre from Monday, January 14 to 19, while Melbourne’s State Basketball Centre hosts the Southern Cross Challenge from January 18 to 21.
Elley Donelan, Kate Evans, Alannah Foley and Mia Puntoriero (under 14 girls), Katelyn Russell (under 16 girls) and Casey Ardern (under 18 girls) will all have the opportunity to impress on their home court at the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup.
Coen Ainsworth, Frank Oguche (under 14 boys), Sienna Harvey (under 14 girls) and Tahli Smith (under 15 girls) are off to the Southern Cross Challenge.
Meanwhile, Wangaratta’s Brodie Paul and Myrtleford’s Toby Cossor will both feature for the under 16 boys at the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup, while fellow Wangaratta product Thomas Briggs has been picked for the under 15 boys for the Southern Cross Challenge.
