The Albury-Wodonga University of the Third Age held a morning tea on Friday to coincide with seniors celebrations and explain more about this educational movement for mature learners.
About 50 people heard U3A, which is affiliated with Albury-Wodonga Community College, began on the Border in 1992.

This year the group, all volunteers, offered 34 courses on topics including philosophical discussions, sustainability, international relations, World War I, family history, Scrabble, chess, arts and music appreciation and gardening.
“You get to know people of a similar age, similar interests,” Albury-Wodonga U3A president Eddie Voogt said.
“Eventually you finish up with very good friendships.”
