The former triathlete finished second at this weekend’s National Capital Tour in Canberra.
The three-stage event started with an 11km time trial where Featonby finished second to overall tour winner Aiden Toovey.
Featonby won the 103km second stage to the top of Mount Majura by seven seconds – putting him in a strong position leading into Sunday’s final 55km flat stage, where he maintained second place overall.
His success started a week earlier at the four-day tour of Gippsland.
Featonby rode near the front in all four stages to finish fourth overall – missing the podium by a handful of seconds in the highly-rated National Series event.
The tour consisted of mainly flat stages, with the final time trial up Mount Baw Baw to Featonby’s liking.
His attention turns to the Tour of Southland in New Zealand on October 28.
