I am sad and angered to report that the same group of four-wheel-drivers that have disrespected and damaged both the Waterworks area and Mungabareena in the past have now accessed, vandalised and trashed East Albury Hill.

Many readers would know and would have spent time on the seat at the end of the track looking out over the Kiewa Valley up to Bogong. Unfortunately, on Sunday morning, walkers were met by the sight of that seat having been destroyed and pulled out, and the site being trashed with fast food packaging.
Access was gained by destroying a fence below the communication towers then driving cross-country to, and then along, the Hume and Hovell track.
Beyond the damage we have already witnessed wrought by these people, my concern is that they will move next to harassment of wildlife with their spotlights and, eventually, the killing of kangaroos either with their vehicles or with firearms.
In the past I have photographed a P-plate driver in action carving up the lawns at Mungabaereena Reserve. Police, at least, took the number of the vehicle but said it was really a matter for Albury Council. Council, of course, didn’t want to know about it.
My sympathies go out to the Parklands Albury-Wodonga crews who work so hard to maintain this area and will be left to pick up the pieces from this vandalism. But Albury City needs to act immediately to hoon-proof East Albury Hill to preserve it for both the wildlife and the hundreds of people who properly and respectfully use delightful natural gem so close to Albury’s CBD.

Socialist stance
How dare that people should be able to sell their own water. Of course it's legally theirs however don't they realise that it will offend someone, selling it to a profit-making company. We are only talking about 19 megalitres of water. What next? The Hume Dam?
It was also noteworthy that Indigo Mayor (former Green and now independent) points out they (the customers) are paying $3 a bottle for that water. My God, who would have thought that, they must have been forced to pay?
I was a bit disappointed that they (the “eco warriors”) didn't mention climate change, global warming, whatever in their crusade. Although “water mining” is very inventive.

Cats got the cream
Albury Music Theatre, wow! What a show. Congratulations and thanks for a wonderful evening's entertainment with the performance of Cats.
Staging was excellent, the orchestra marvelous and the singing and dancing wonderful. So many stars, all of them so very talented.
Best of all was the fact that I could understand practically every word, sung and said. If I had a cat waiting at home, she/he would have been given her/his rightful due when I got home.
Cats are indeed not dogs. No sign of “amateur” in this production. Well done.
