It will be a different kind of horsepower in action when two of Albury-Wodonga’s biggest car dealerships go head-to-head for the first time in a race on Saturday.

Campbell Taylor, riding “Bumblebee” for McRae Holden, is hoping to beat Baker Motors to the post in the Border Ovarian Cancer Awareness Group’s pony race at Wodonga Turf Club.
Eleven jockeys will take to the track on inflatable horses before the Kelsey Watts Memorial Race gets underway.
BOCAG president Heather Watts said a plaque honouring her daughter would be unveiled on the day.
“Her life was all about horses; she rode nationally for the pony club and had a horse of her own which she trained and it won at Flemington,” she said.
“She was an equine manager at Seymour when she was really sick.

“Race-caller Jack Styring, who is in his 80s now, went out to the stud where Kelsey was working, met her and wrote a piece about her.
“I thought why not have a plaque – this is our 6th year for the memorial race – and this year the proposal was supported by the club committee.”
Ms Watts will also hand over a donation to Professor David Bowtell of the Garvan Institute’s ovarian cancer program, after visiting the research team at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre earlier this year.
“Five of us had a tour and we were blown away by what they were doing,” she said.
“They’ve basically identified two triggers in the trial we put $75,000 towards at last year’s race, so they will now start a new trial looking at those triggers.
“We think we’re close to something really good happening.”
Another new addition to the BOCAG activities at the turf club’s Caulfield Cup Day will be fashions on the field.
For “best-dressed teal lady” and “best-dressed teal man”, there will be a range of prizes donated from businesses including Quest Wodonga, Huon Hill Hotel and Enviro Drapes and Shades.
There are still tickets available for the BOCAG marquee and can be purchased through the turf club.
