A Mitta garden that would not look out of place in a fairy tale will be open to the public early next month. The Witches Garden, developed by Felicity and Lewis McDonald over the past 34 years, can be seen as part of Open Gardens Victoria on November 3, 4 and 5. With a mix of established exotic trees and local eucalypts, its features include a lake with a Monet-inspired bridge, a formal parterre enclosed by a hedge, a vegetable garden, medicinal herbs and a “witches cottage”. The garden opening includes plant sales, coffee and cake and local produce for sale and an art show in the converted garage gallery.
