Torcaso’s side showed its class with a 5-0 victory against the AWFA Ladies Select at La Trobe on the weekend, but he was impressed with the standard of the contest.
“We were quietly surprised actually,” Torcaso said.
“We knew it was going to be a tough game and it started off as a battle, which we expected.
“We thought our fitness would come over the top of them in the end, which it did, but it was really good competition.
“A fullback (Georgina Cominos) in the first half looked pretty decent and the goalkeeper (Rachael Reitano) made some really good saves.”
The cousin of Albury United striker, Alicia, Torcaso was only too happy to be involved with the Butterfly Football Fund charity clash.
“From the point of the contact, it was important for us as a club to make sure we get out here for a couple of reasons,” Torcaso said.
“Firstly to make sure we’re seeing what other talent is out there, but also to give back to regional areas.
“We’d love to come back next year for a pre-season tournament.”
