Moore will take over the Tigers’ top job from the recently-retired Olivia Aughton who led the club for five seasons.
After spending time with rival Ovens and Murray club Lavington and playing basketball for Wodonga Lady Wolves and Lady Bandits, Moore joined Albury in 2010 and has been a prolific goal-shooter for the club.
She will be a non-playing coach after retiring in July due to ongoing knee problems.
Moore is no stranger to coaching after leading Lavington’s A-grade in 2004 as well as having stints at the helm in lower grades with the Panthers and Albury.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” Moore said.
“It will be good coaching at the highest level in the Ovens and Murray again.”
Moore said Albury would look to recruit several defenders over the off-season with sisters Olivia and Bridget Aughton and Brigetta Hart signalling their intentions to move on.
The trio were instrumental in the Tigers making this year’s grand final against Wangaratta at Norm Minns Oval.
“I’ll look to change things up a little bit this year and do some different things,” Moore said.
“A lot of our strength at the defensive end won’t be coming back so we will look to get some defenders from elsewhere in.
“Maybe some of the girls in B grade can step up as well depending on how they go pre-season.
“We’re fortunate to have some really good young players coming through the grades so that’s exciting for the club.”
Albury president Pauline Willis backed Moore to continue the good work of Aughton.
“We’re rapt to have Sarah coaching,” Willis said.
“When we knew Liv was retiring from coaching, Sarah was my first choice.
“We’re very happy to have her.
“I think she’ll be a perfect fit for the club as she brings a lot of enthusiasm and motivation and so much netball knowledge to the role.”
