Mason, 21, was restricted to six senior games in the Ovens and Murray this season, but played in all three of Raiders’ finals.
Swans co-coach Ricky Whitehead said Mason will be a welcome addition to defence.
“He’s at the right age, he’s 21 and he’s been injured most of the year,” Whitehead said.
“Obviously Raiders rated him high enough to bring him straight back into the ones at the end.”
Whitehead admitted he was doubtful signing Mason given how well he finished the season at Raiders.
“We thought he might not want to sign with us because he’s back in the ones, but he wanted a fresh start with football to get back to enjoying it,” he said.
Mason joins Raiders teammate Ash Van Klaveren at Chiltern, who has been appointed as an assistant coach.
