The free Write-ability Goes Regional and Online writers group will meet monthly from November to July (except January) at Wodonga Library.
Facilitated by local mentor Thalia Kalkipsakis, the skills development workshops, open to writers of any experience, will include author talks, tutorials and webinars.
The program began with the Own Voices: Why Writing Matters forum on Wednesday at The Cube Wodonga.

Writer and disability activist Jax Jacki Brown, who led a workshop at the forum, said she wished such an opportunity had existed while she was growing up in Lismore.
“Often as writers, and particularity writers with disability, we can feel alone in our writing craft,” she said.
Participant Kate Morell, of Wagga, used the trial bus service to the Border so she could attend.
“I write to share my feelings,” she said.
“I’m hearing impaired, vision impaired and going blind.
“I want people to know there’s more to me than my disabilities.”
