Some 150 players across the region were nominated by their club coaches, with more than 100 participating in a trial game in Yarrawonga to gain selection.
Bushrangers female talent coordinator Briana Cossar admitted it was a difficult process due to the amount of young female footballers within the region.

Players of interest during the 2019 pre-season are Millie Brown (Mooroopna), Teagan Brett (Shepparton Notre), Sophie McCarthy (Alpine Lions) and Abby Favell (Finley).
The pre-season squad of 46 players will train twice a week at Wangaratta’s Cathedral College.
