Rowe, who was the club’s most improved player under Mick Malthouse in 2014, spent seven seasons with the AFL club.
“Sam Rowe has been a wonderful player and clubman since he arrived at the club and has overcome his fair share of adversity in that time,” head of football Brad Lloyd said.
“The perseverance he’s shown has made a tremendous impact.”
Before being signed by Carlton, Rowe, 30, spent four seasons with Norwood in the SANFL and had previously been rookie-listed by the Sydney Swans.
Jed Lamb, Sam Kerridge and Nick Graham were also delisted.
“Sam, Jed, Nick and Sam will always be Carlton people and we wish them all the best for the future,” Lloyd said.
