Foley has nominated the South Australian pathway for Tuesday’s AFLW draft at Marvel Stadium.
The Australian Opal and WNBL star retired from the sport after the 2014-15 season with Adelaide Lightning and has turned her hand to football in recent years with immediate success.
Foley joined Sturt for the 2018 SANFLW season where she was voted the most outstanding player of the year by the league’s coaches.
She polled 54 votes to finish eight clear of West’s Rachelle Martin.
The 35-year-old played in the ruck, leading the competition in hit-outs after starring for Sturt at the stoppages during the campaign.
Foley displayed great mobility to average more than 18 disposals per game in her nine appearances.
Adelaide is currently the only South Australian AFLW club.
