In a tight season opener, Tigers were forced to fight every inch of the way with Jimmy Scannell and Dom Bertazzo staying cool under pressure.
“It was a real battle,” Scannell said.
“Northside played well with a couple of new players.”
Young gun Tyson Mutsch was dangerous in attack for Northside.
In the other match, Sharks comfortably defeated Pool Pirates.
Sharks started the season in style with a 16-3 victory over Pool Pirates Skulls in A-grade women.
Star player Leah Dodd was unstoppable with nine goals while Brooke Dickie and Elyse Boyer also turned in strong displays for the winners.
Pool Pirates defeated Albury by three goals.
