The Albury Public School duo are set to compete in the final of the Premier's Spelling Bee in November.
Rylee, in year four, and Harrison, in year six, have made the final in the junior and senior category respectively.
To have qualified, the pair had to come out on top in their school zone and regional spelling bee finals, tackling words such as ‘scrupulous’, ‘expostulate’ and ‘hereditary’ along the way.
Albury Public School assistant principal Jo Cameron said both students had worked extremely hard to make it this far through the competition.
“Rylee and Harrison have both worked extremely hard on their spelling lists,” she said.
“There were an awful lot of children in all levels across the state in the competition this year, so it is quite an achievement.”
Albury Public is no stranger to spelling bee success, with now year six student Harry Cameron finishing in the top three last year.
