Among them was Thurgoona’s Will Clarke, 9, and his younger siblings.
He said it was favourite attraction, though asked if it sold him on being a soldier he replied “maybe”.
It was the first time the Clarke siblings had been to the fair, having moved to their mother Emily’s home territory of the Border from Tamworth in recent times.
“They don’t have anything like this in Tamworth, it’s really good for the community,” Mrs Clarke said after having spent four hours at the fair.
“They just had heaps of fun, it was a great family day and it’s nice to do something where it doesn’t cost too much.”

Howlong sisters Zoe, 10, and Mia, 7, were impressed by the butterflies and moths featured in individual display cases.
