They were presented to The Honourable Linda Dessau AC and her husband The Honourable Anthony Howard QC at an awards ceremony on the lawns of Melbourne’s Government House on October 27.
The four Queen’s Scouts and one Queen’s Guide were Maddy Tomkins (3rd Wodonga Venturers), McCarlie-Jayne Dohrmann (1st Baranduda Venturers), Nicole Peters (Tallangatta Guides), Andre Bejsta (1st Baranduda Venturers) and Will Horstead (3rd Wodonga Venturers).
All of these young people have completed hundreds of hours of work in several categories during the past three years in order to achieve these impressive milestones in Scouting and Guiding groups.
Of special significance for Nicole Peters was being presented at the ceremony alongside her cousin, Evelyn O’Meara, who achieved her Queen’s Guide status with the Ashburton Supernova Guide Unit.
