Ault-Connell survived meningococcal disease and plays a major role in improving community awareness of the disease as well as proving an inspirational role model for overcoming adversity.
She will join several other keynote speakers at the Years 5 and 6 Resilience Day for Henty, Holbrook and Culcairn students organised by the towns’ local health advisory committees.
Former Culcairn Public School and Billabong High School student Bec Myers will also address the students.
The active local resident was involved in a car accident on her 18th birthday which left her a paraplegic.
She is expected to share with the students some real-life examples of how she is overcoming everyday life obstacles.
Meanwhile Matthew Dillon and Sarah Argus, from the Bluearth Foundation, will be on hand to demonstrate a unique approach to experiencing physical activity.
The not-for-profit charity aims to assist students with behavioural, emotional, social, physical and academic development.
The event, which runs from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm at the Culcairn Sports Ground, will include a barbecue lunch and also involve local supporting mental health services and representatives from AFL Southern NSW who will invite the students to participate in sporting activities.
The event is being held on the back of the highly successful mental health forum at Billabong High School earlier in the year which included an address by basketball superstar Lauren Jackson.
