Traditionally held in April, the event was moved to October at the request of Eventing Australia to facilitate an international-level competition in the southern region as a lead-up to Australia’s only 4-star event at Adelaide.
The event boasted 11 classes from EVA60 through to the CIC3* with 440 competitors including Stuart Tinney, Heath Ryan, Tim Boland, Emma Bishop, Andrew Cooper, Hamish Cargill and Sam Lyle.
With an impressive 33 entries in the CIC3* class, Emma Bishop on Issey Miyake galloped home the winner with home-grown favourite Tania Harding leading after the dressage and only just pipped at the post for second.
Amanda Ross was busy in the CIC2* with three horses, winning on Dondiablo.
