After two years at the helm at McNamara Reserve, Looby has signed with former club Shepparton United.
Looby is a former premiership player and best and fairest winner with the Demons.
Myrtleford president Michael Quirk said Looby’s move came as no surprise.
“We were hoping he might stay on as a forward to help our younger guys, but he’s decided to go back to Shep United and we wish him all the best,” Quirk said.
“He’s travelled over for the last two years and fulfilled his obligations.
“He’s been good for us and we’ve been good for him.”
Looby has been a recruiting target in the Shepparton region for several months but opted to reject district league approaches to stay in a major competition.
Looby and Terry Burgess have been replaced at the helm at Myrtleford by Jake Sharp.
