Twelve-week-old Jed, with owner Greg Benson, explored the new dog agility equipment, including weave poles, hops and jumps.
The $15,000 equipment in the off-leash dog park was yesterday installed by more than 400 staff from Mars Petcare.
Event co-ordinator Glen Cuthbert said the employees planted more than 600 small plants in an area surrounding the Belvoir Park playground, which was damaged by recent flooding.
“It’s all about doing something that promotes responsible pet ownership and making it a better world for pets, hence the agility equipment, and really connecting that bond between owners and their pets,” Mr Cuthbert said.
“And the park is really on our doorstep so it was a good opportunity to do something in our backyard, we do have a lot of community events going on but not often do we do it in such a grand scale where all 400 staff come together on one day.”
The park will be open this weekend for dogs and their owners.
