One of only a handful of Border representatives in the event, Geering’s Stolen Dream proved too strong in the round-robin series.
A bumper field of around 375 contested the teams’ titles.
“That’s a pretty big year for us, I think last year we had 41 teams and this time we had 46,” Albury Wodonga Badminton Association’s Colleen Severs said of the tournament’s growth.
“The competition is very good, the venue (Albury’s Lauren Jackson Sports Centre) is very good and a lot of them make a trip out of it by getting here on the Friday and leaving on the Monday.”
Teams of eight (four men and four women) tackled the titles over 10 grades.
“There’s players who were definitely State players in their juniors, there were some very good players,” Severs said.
The event caters for those aged 35 and over.
