Thousands of people came out to face the music for the weekend’s Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues.
Board member Miriam Zolin said about 4000 tickets had been sold but many more people enjoyed the free performances as well.
“We’ve had a really positive buzz around the place and, luckily, obviously fantastic weather this year, which has been a real boon for us,” she said.
Ms Zolin said shifting the blues and community stage to Merriwa Park had been well received.
“People have absolutely loved that,” she said.
“Heaps of people spending time down there in that festival precinct and moving between the venues, which is what we want.”
Organisers had also noticed a slight demographic change among festival patrons.
“We’re a little bit younger this year,” Ms Zolin said.
“With so many young musicians on stage at the moment, we’re also seeing that their friends and fans are also visiting the festival.”
