Murray played for Melbourne club Bentleigh this year and will inject plenty of class into the line-up for first-year coach James Martiniello.
He kicked 41 goals for Wodonga in 2017 and has also had a stint with VFL club Northern Blues.
Murray’s arrival will help the Goulburn Valley club replace Luke Morgan who has switched to Wangaratta as coach.
In further promising news for Benalla, the Saints have lured 2015 premiership player Mitch Exton back to the club from Barnawartha.
He has spent the last three years playing or coaching the Tigers.
Ben Kunkel has also joined Benalla from Barnawartha.
Will Martiniello has committed after taking out the Essendon and District Football League best and fairest at Maribyrnong Park.
