Border residents Helen Chant, Harry Apitz and Madison Doughty received prestigious ‘Save a Life’ Awards at the annual St John Annual Awards Ceremony last in October.
The trio were on duty when they were alerted to a woman in distress.
Quickly recognising the symptoms of a heart attack, they called for an ambulance before commencing first aid.
St John NSW CEO Sarah Lance said their actions had been crucial.
“The first five minutes after an emergency or accident are the most crucial, and knowing how to help can truly be the difference between life and death.”
