The perennial finalists have managed just one win from their first four games and it doesn’t get any easier against the undefeated City Colts on Saturday.
Hawks’ skipper Jacob Schonafinger believes starting underdogs might be just what his side needs.
“For whatever reason, we haven’t started the way we would have liked,” he said.
“Going in heavily unfancied gives us a chance to turn it around and get back to 2-3 with a couple of winnable games to come.

“We probably haven’t had the consistency in the 11 we would have liked, but in saying that, a few of us that bat middle order haven’t made the runs we would have in previous years.”
Jon Hyde is a key inclusion for the side this weekend.
Yarrawonga-Mulwala take on Delatite, Beechworth hosts Benalla Bushrangers, Greta faces Ovens Valley United, while Wangaratta Magpies have the bye.
