Not professionally designed, the green spaces have still been created and nurtured with care.
“All the gardens have something unique to offer, whether it is an unusual plant, a design feature, a problem solved or some other little surprise,” organisers said.
“Most gardens are an easy bike ride of Corryong, you can purchase plants or homemade gifts, have a picnic, buy a raffle ticket to win a large garden hamper and be inspired by gardeners and their tips and tricks.”
Corryong Neighbourhood Centre co-ordinator Sara Jenkins said recent wet weather had not detracted from the weekend.
“Everyone was jumping with joy with all that rain,” she said.
“The gardeners had big smiles on their faces; even if the rain damaged a few rose petals, it gave all the gardens such a lift.”
Mrs Jenkins highlighted the diversity of the offerings, for example there were two town gardens side by side where one was structured and formal and the other more open and rambling.
Originally a fundraiser for the Corryong Neighbourhood Centre, the Upper Murray Garden Getabout now supports different community groups each year.
Profits from the garden passes and raffle will go towards getting shade over the children’s playground in Attree Park, Corryong.
The progressive dinner, an evening of three courses at three separate Cudgewa gardens, sold out within days.
Dinner proceeds will support the Cudgewa hall committee.
Mrs Jenkins said the dinner attracted people who might not otherwise attend Corryong Neighbourhood Centre activities.
As well, visitors from places such as Albury-Wodonga, Tumbarumba and Holbrook have travelled to the region to see the gardens.
Tickets to Upper Murray Garden Getabout can be bought at Corryong Visitor Information Centre Saturday and Sunday.
A $15 pass provides entry to all gardens for the weekend or single garden passes are available for $5.
