Soliman hosted seminars at Border Boxing Club and Boss Boxing and supported a community barbecue to raise funds for Legacy.
The IBF middleweight champion of the world holds the record for most professional fights/rounds in the history of the sport with 62 bouts and 543 rounds.
Soliman was happy to make the trip to the Border and support friend and Border Boxing Club owner Matthew Friswell, who he used to train in the early stages of his kickboxing career.
“The icing on the cake of all that for me was being able to put on a smile on the faces of the fighters here,” Soliman said.
“The knowledge I was able to pass on to the up and comers of today was great.
“I run a gym down in Melbourne called Sam’s Stable, and, coincidentally, Border Boxing Club ticks every box needed in terms of facilities and training programs.
“I have come to experience watching Matt Friswell do his thing.
“We like to pick each others brains on the sweet science of the sport of boxing.
“My other highlight of the day was meeting the soldiers and the honour of shaking hands with Warrant Officer Brian Jones.
“It was an absolute honour to meet someone who has done such special things for our country.
“It reminded me of how lucky we are in this country to have such support from our defence force.”

Friswell admitted the boxers in attendance hung on Soliman’s every word.
“It was amazing for the boxers,” Friswell said.
“When I was 18 or 19 years of age, I had to move to Melbourne to get these sort of opportunities.
“What we’re looking to do is give people the pathway locally.”
Friswell hopes to make the day an annual event and keep building on it.
“From today we’ve had a few people interested in assisting us with potentially starting some mental health boxing programs,” Friswell added.
