For the 50-plus mums, their friends and personal trainers who braved Saturday’s five-kilometre obstacle course at James Paterson’s Gerogery property, the gruelling challenge was less about fitness and more about finding inner confidence in themselves.
Organiser Fiona Brown, of Fire and Ice Training at Jindera, said the atmopshere of camaraderie was what made the event such a runaway success.
The recent cancellation of the Miss Muddy at Henty had left many people a little deflated because they had been in training for the event, according to Ms Brown.
It also sparked Mr Paterson to finish off and offer his own Dirty30 course at the Albury-Wodonga Paintball venue as an alternative.
...there was a lot of laughter and some very satisified faces at the completion of the course.

Set against the beautiful Table Top Mountain, women from the local region as well as Narrandera, Wagga, Leeton and Corowa donned their best mud-running attire and took to the course with gusto.
“The beauty of this event was that no one was necessarily super fit and we were all shapes and sizes but everyone was having a tonne of fun,” Ms Brown said.
“Even just judging by the Facebook comments and pictures after the event , there was a lot of laughter and some very satisified faces at the completion of the course.
“I think there was a real feeling of accomplishment.”
The women who entered all voted to donate funds raised from the event to Albury Women’s refuge Betty’s Place, according to Ms Brown.
“We got participants to vote for a charity and domestic violence was something many listed as an important cause to support,” she said.
About $3000 was raised.
