Samantha Little’s parents Ken and Rachel took over the former Aldonga Auctions building on Osburn Street in Wodonga two years ago.
“They own a vending company that services the Albury-Wodonga area and Dad just had this idea one day, that it would be great to open drive-through coffee in the shed,” Ms Little said.
“It’s taken off and we expanded our opening hours from 5.30am to 11am because of how busy it was.”
More on the Border’s coffee scene:
Ms Little said their barista Janiene Tait, who has 30 years’ experience, was the heart of the business and had experimented with the Platform 9 blend, offering ‘bulletproof’ coffee (involving grass-fed butter and coconut oil).
“Neen knows the customers so well that she recognises the fourth car in line, and starts making their coffee … it’s quick and drive-though, but is also quality,” she said.
The Coffee Shed uses biodegradable cups and packaging.
