Mal Lieschke did enough in the final singles rubber to get the points for Blues.
Nick Vicary and Marcus Busch were solid early, while Andrew Healy, Zac Burhop and Adib Golshan played their role in an entertaining contest.
Jade Culph was again in great touch for SPD Chill in their 4-2 account of Wodonga Bulldogs.
Mark Shanahan and Dan Neville provided excellent back up, with Tony O’Connell best for Wodonga.
Michael Reid remained undefeated in Forest Hill Galahs’ triumph over club mates Cats.
In the ladies, a dominant final set by Lynda Davis and Alison Barrett saw Thurgoona Jade home by three games from Wodonga Tigers.
Di Larkin and Sandra Allen’s third stanza helped give Wodonga Larrikins a six-game buffer at day’s end against Wodonga Dodgers.
Forest Hill was untroubled in its defeat of Wodonga Diamonds.

An all-round team effort by Peter Murphy, Kai Murphy, Matt Morrow and James Starr saw Forest Hill Blue with the victory over Sacred Heart Gold before the final doubles rubbers in a quality section two clash.
SPD Black had the better of the close rubbers in a hard fought battle against Wodonga Bushrangers.
Rob Cabion and Paul Grover led the way as Albury accounted for SPD Yellow.
In the ladies, Glenly, Wodonga Rosellas and Wodonga Doves had big wins.
A three-set haul from Shaun Parnell drove Wodonga Eagles to victory over Thurgoona Bears in their section three encounter.
Glenly Gold had the points in the bag by mid-afternoon against SPD Tigers.
Two dominant sets by Wayne Bodycroft set up SPD Blue’s 12-game salute over Forest Hill Blue.
Albury Blue was too good for Wodonga Pirates and Albury Gold likewise over Forest Hill Saints.
In section four, Wodonga Lions claimed two tie-break sets on their way to a narrow 4-2 win over Lavington Phoenix.
Molly Dover, Jack Jankauskas and Daniel Soblewski all fired in Lavington Dragons’ comfortable win over SPD Yellow.
SPD Green were easy winners over Scots Gold.
The standout clash in section five was Forest Hill Galahs’ four-game salute over SPD Red.
Albury Gold accounted for Forest Hill Swans, five sets to one.
The remaining two matches saw Albury Blue and SPD Crows untroubled in straightforward victories.
In other news, junior pennant and coaching continues this Saturday at the Albury grass courts, with registrations from 9.15am.
Cost is $10 with children aged seven to 14 encouraged to attend.
