Montanna played through the midfield, while Mackensy lined up on the wing as the team completed an unbeaten run at the premier international youth tournament – winning the final 2-1 against Miriam College from the Philippines.
The side was made up of youth players from Victorian NPL women’s outfit Calder United – where Mackensy plays in the under-19s and Montanna has trialled.
All players travelled under the company, Footskills, run by Calder United senior assistant Ian Williamson, who coached the side at the tournament.
Team manager Amanda Stella was impressed with how the sisters performed.
“They both did really well,” Stella said.

“Montanna hadn’t played with that group of girls before and she made good friendships within the team.
“They both played the majority of every game and were dominant figures within the team.”
She added it was a very successful and worthwhile trip for the squad.
“It was an under-18s group and our players were aged from 14 to 17,” Stella said.
“Most teams at the Singa Cup came from the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.
“Before we got to Singapore, we went to Malaysia first and had a couple of friendly games with some local Malaysian teams, which they won as well.”
