Petfocus Vetcare has recently moved into new premises further along Wagga Road which is the culmination of five years of planning and design by owner, Dr Renee Pigdon.
The official opening will be performed by Albury mayor Kevin Mack with the open day between 11am and 2pm.
“The hospital is the largest of its kind in regional NSW and includes a separate cat, dog and small animal hospital, a hydrotherapy physiotherapy centre and a visiting specialist facility,” Dr Pigdon said.
“The hospital has been designed with animal fear free principles and allows for pets to have a veterinary experience without the challenge of sharing facilities with other pets of a different species.
“The cat hospital is the first of its kind cat hospital in regional NSW and contains a separate cat adoption facility, as well as isolation facility, surgery, treatment room, waiting room, consultation and visiting rooms, radiation and chemotherapy centre and wellness centre.”
Dr Pigdon bought the business from another vet, Dr Jana Stevenson, five years ago, with four other vets working onsite plus nursing staff.
“The hospital also has visiting and quiet rooms for patients and their families and welcomes visitors through the facility at any time,” she said.
“Pet monitors via camera are mounted throughout the clinic to allow constant patient monitoring and the site is secured with constant 24 hour surveillance and super sensitive smoke alarms with immediate on and offsite notifications.”
The open day activities include jumping castle, cartoonist, photo booth, urban canines dog training, hospital tours, competitions and show bags.
