Former veteran elected to Benalla’s top job
Retired veteran and gym owner Scott Upston was elected Benalla’s mayor at a special council meeting on Wednesday, with Peter David named his deputy.

Former mayor Don Firth did not recontest the position, having taken a leave of absence in September to run for the seat of Euroa in the Victorian election.
Cr Upston thanked Cr Firth, who remains on council, and Cr Davis for their work as mayor and acting mayor.
