More than a dozen stores will open until 7pm on three Fridays from November 23.
Yackandandah lifestyle store 7th Pocket operator Lindy Allen-Smith said late-night Christmas shopping was offered in the historic town last year for the first time in many years.
She said this year more traders would extend their hours.
“This year many more traders have jumped on board and will be decorating their stores,” she said.
A new committee of traders has been liaising with Indigo council to light up the trees throughout the town in the countdown to Christmas.
The streetscape will have a magical transformation with the addition of thousands of fairy lights installed in the elm trees.
In the spirit of community, the CFA has offered its services to install lights while the Yackandandah Chamber of Commerce has provided financial help.
Ms Allen-Smith said live music, giveaways, gifts and children’s activities would create a family-friendly atmosphere during the late-night shopping events.
“The traders envisage this event growing each year and encourage the local and Albury-Wodonga community to visit for relaxed shopping and dining and discover what Yack has to offer in a new light,” she said.
Klimt Clothing owner Karen Gray encouraged people to visit Yackandandah.
“This year is the second year of trading,” she said.
“It is growing in momentum and our hope is to create an annual pre-Christmas event that will bring people from surrounding areas to enjoy the warmth and diversity of our town.”
Participating businesses this year are: Old Garage Yackandandah, Sluga Gallery, Avenue Shared Working Space, 7th Pocket, Sue Ellen Drapery, Star Hotel Yackandandah, The Rusty Bike Cafe, Yackandandah Chemist, Vintage Alley, Yackandandah Holiday Park, Ausmentos, Beechworth Bakery, Yackandandah Chamber of Commerce and Klimt Clothing.
Yackandandah shops will stay open until 7pm on November 23 and 30 and December 7.
