The Power are also unbeaten thus far, with a washout against Yackandandah the only blemish.

Captain Alistair Randell admitted his side has had some good tussles with Kiewa in recent years – including the 2016-17 grand final.

Randell has been in and out of the side with other commitments, but played in last weekend’s win against arch-rival Dederang.

“They put together a couple of good performances against Corowa and Howlong while I was away, so hopefully that continues,” Randell said.

“I think we’re still trying to get everyone doing their job instead of one or two performances.

“Dan Saville has been in good touch, he made 98 (last week) and ‘Damo’ Jenvey as well.

“With the ball, it’s been a reasonably even spread, so hopefully we can keep that going.”

But Randell isn’t reading much into ladder positions.

“I think everyone is in the same boat with availabilities and stuff like that,” he said.

“Before Christmas, it’s a bit hard to see where everyone is truly sitting, it does seem to heat up a bit after Christmas.”

Baranduda can keep the pressure on the top-two with victory against Bethanga.

Barnawartha-Chiltern faces another good challenge against Dederang.

Yackandandah hosts Howlong, while Corowa will look to continue its charge up the ladder when it takes on Eskdale at home.
