Chasing Albury’s total of 173, the Phoenix looked shot at 5-27 and then 8-129 when Grant and Fitzsimmons came together.
The pair put on an unbeaten 58-run stand with the youngster hitting the fourth-last ball to the boundary for a confidence-boosting win.
“It was a great result, the boys were absolutely over the moon from where we were,” captain Grant said.
The import finished 87 not out, while Fitzsimmons made 23.
Grant had earlier taken 3-25 as Zac Stuart (47) and Luke Styles (32) tried to snare Albury’s first win.
