Across the Border and country, the hardware stores are collecting bags to be given to disadvantaged women filled with essential hygiene items including pads, tampons, shampoo, toothbrushes and deodorant.
Share the Dignity’s “it’s in the bag” Christmas campaign aim for 120,000 bags to be dropped at Bunnings Warehouses across the country to assist the women experiencing poverty or homelessness.
Founder Rochelle Courtenay said bags could be dropped at any Bunnings Warehouse stores and would help eliminate “period poverty”.
“[It] is a small but extremely impactful gesture,” she said.
