It was a spectacular weather for sport across the Border and North East this weekend. Albury teenager Laura Gillard stormed home in the Albury Wodonga Triathlon Club’s 10th annual women’s at Allans Flat. ED Perryman underlined his status as one of the Riverina’s most exciting prospects by leading Holbrook and District to an eight-wicket victory over rivals Wagga at Holbrook for their O'Farrell Cup match. In provincial cricket Wodonga beat North Albury at Wodonga and in the CAW district Yackandandah was too strong for Howlong at Yackandandah. And for the A-grade women in water polo, the Sharks defeated Albury Tigers 8-3 and the Pool Pirates Bones outgunned Pool Pirates Skulls 11-6. And for the A grade men Albury Tigers turned in their best performance of the season to defeat Pool Pirates 6-3.
