I noted during the Liberal party state election promises after Matthew Guy released his plan for fast European style trains Bill Tilley was quick to pose on Prime TV news that the North East line was a part of this plan. Truth is, it is not.

The plan released was for five lines only; Traralgon, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and Shepparton. Bill has done it again.
I also notice that Bill wants to establish a High Country hall of fame honouring, in part, mountain cattlemen and conservation. Well it sounds good but the Liberals want cattle and feral horses to roam our national parks destroying the parks he claims to conserve. This is just pure rhetoric to con the die-hards.
The open letter by the doctors of this area is a testament that Bill is a lame duck representative for Benambra. Our health needs must be secured for the future so this is why we need an independent in the seat.
We need state and federal funding increases to maintain our health services and they will buy their way back into this seat if they lose it. Bill has had years to prove himself but really has never delivered on anything major, so why do we hang onto this myth he is good for us?
And think about this. Bridget McKenzie is moving to Wodonga but on national television a few weeks ago she endorsed the construction of a new coal fired power station backed with taxpayer monies. Now, is this the sort of backward thinking we want in our area? It is up to us to decide and vote for now and in the future.

Party is not to blame
The Shooters Party can not be blamed for the numbers of wild deer in Victoria at present. The party has been in existence for only a few years. Sambar deer were first introduced into Victoria in 1866, being released into the bush at Chirnside Park after a period of time in quarantine.
All six species of deer were introduced as a game animal – that status is still current. The Sporting Shooters Association did not ever have to lobby for that. The SSAA has been lobbying governments for years to allow deer hunting in all state, regional and national parks, with only very limited success, to help control deer numbers. That is where the high numbers of deer are now coming from.
The SSAA has also lobbied to have more resources put into the illegal hunting and spotlighting issue, and to have the judicial system overhauled so that we may see the criminals receive a decent punishment. For all crime, not just those related to hunting.
Most thinking voters will know that the best way to allocate their preferences is from last and move up. For example, those concerned about rural Victoria may put Green and ALP last and second last and sort out the others from there. Who Bill Tilley allocates his preferences to is likely not to matter much, as they are unlikely to be distributed at the count of votes.
