Heading into the final day with a win and a loss, the home association posted 159 against the unbeaten Murrumbidgee Cricket Council, which takes in the Griffith region.
Ethan Hanrahan top-scored with 35, while Marcus Reid (23) and Oscar Lyons (21) also contributed.
Lyons played superbly over the three days, posting 108 runs at a classy average of 54.
But Murrumbidgee nabbed a one-wicket win.
The visitors were 9-150 when Ben Fattore joined Jack Headon.
The number eight batsman had batted patiently and it proved decisive as Murrumbidgee passed the target.
Headon (25) was dismissed with the score on 162.
CAW started with a seven-wicket win over Southern Riverina and followed that with a seven-wicket loss.
