Albury-Wodonga Young Singers will perform Christmas concerts at St Matthew’s Church in Albury on Saturday and Sacred Heart Church Wodonga on Sunday.
Aged from 6 to 14, about dozen children will join the Border-based World Voices Choir for the two concerts featuring a small orchestra.
Guest soloists will be Elena Griffiths, Mattea Little and Chloe Wade.
Albury-Wodonga Young Singers coordinator Bohdan Krowicky said the varied program comprised Christmas songs, spirituals and children’s songs.
“Guest guitarists Sok Yi and Stephan Bulmer will accompany the singers in Silent Night, which was originally written for classical guitars,” he said.
Albury-Wodonga Young Singers will also perform at Wodonga Carols by Candlelight on December 16.
This weekend the St Matthew’s Church concert starts at 7.30pm on Saturday and the Sacred Heart Church concert starts at 2pm on Sunday.
Entry is by gold coin donation with proceeds to refugee communities.
Albury-Wodonga Young Singers rehearses at Wodonga Senior Secondary College Performing Arts Centre on Tuesdays, 4.30pm to 6pm, during Victorian school terms.
