The community lunch at St Stephen’s Uniting Church attracted about 130 people and a team of 50 volunteers last year and co-ordinators Cindy Pickering and Helen Collins encourage others to participate in 2018.

Registrations of guests and volunteers can be made at the church, corner of Beechworth Road and Nilmar Avenue, or by ringing (02) 6024 2108 while donations of food, soft drinks, Christmas decorations, Christmas wrapping paper or money would be appreciated.
Mrs Pickering said the lunch embraced the entire community.
“It is open to all who might otherwise not have anywhere else to go on Christmas Day,” she said.
“We do offer transport, we try and cover every base that we can.”
Mrs Collins said the volunteers included regulars but also new people, with whole families offering their support at times.
