I guess it could have been any of us at the end of the day
- Nici Freeman
The Kilmister and Gwynne Families Fundraiser at Bundalong Tavern on December 15 from noon will support Paul Kilmister and his sons Felix, Morgan and Austin.
Mr Kilmister’s wife Amanda and second son Harrison died in a horrific crash at Brimin on November 2 in which he, Morgan and Austin were also seriously injured. A truck driver has been charged over the collision.
A committee including representatives of Bundalong Action Group and Bundalong Tavern and Villas met on Tuesday night to plan the activities, being organised with the families’ approval.
Committee member Brett Butler said the people of Bundalong always supported each other in difficult times.
“There was always going to be a fundraiser,” he said.
“Obviously the bills are still coming in, so we want to help out.
“We’re lucky to live in a little community like this, we all just dig deep, get together and help out.
“We've had a lot of people come on board, donating auction items and wanting to help personally, financially or on the day.”
Mr Butler said tradespeople were needed as well to finish refurbishing the family home and make it more accessible.
“They were halfway through renovating their house, so we were hoping to help out there as much as we can,” he said.

Raffles and auctions will be held at the event, with tool boxes, a helicopter flights and sporting memorabilia among the donations so far and Bundalong Tavern also donating its profits from the day.
Bundalong Action Group’s Nici Freeman said there would be family activities like jumping castles, a water slide, face painting and a range of food options.
“We’d love to have as many people there as we can,” she said.
“We’re hoping to get donations, but we also want people to actually get there and buy the donations.
“The more money raised the better to take the pressure off the family a bit.
“I guess it could have been any of us at the end of the day.”
Mr Butler said emergency services personnel would also attend the fundraiser.
“The SES, police, ambulance, CFA, they do a great job and they see some terrible sights they have to live with,” he said.
“We certainly want to show our appreciation for them as well.”
Anyone wishing to donate auction items or make any other contribution can contact Mr Butler on 0425 787 886.
A separate Go Fund Me page set up on November 5 to support the Kilmister and Gwynne families has raised nearly $30,000.
