Murray Bushranger Nick Murray will play full-time for the Hawks, while dangerous wingman Tom McCaffrey has nominated them as his second club.
McCaffrey joined VFL outfit Casey Demons earlier this month, so if he’s not selected there, he’ll play at Rovers.
The signing are a bodyblow to Raiders and will only add to a sudden rivalry after former coach Daryn Cresswell joined the Hawks
Rovers’ football operations manager Barry Sullivan played a straight bat when quizzed on the new rivalry.
“Yes, I’m sure that will happen,” he said.
Murray, the younger brother of Collingwood’s Sam, was touted in some areas as a potential AFL draftee.
“He unfortunately had a broken leg late, so that inhibited his ability to participate in some of the draft camps and the like,” Sullivan said.
The Hawks have also signed Diggers Rest small forward-midfielder Mat Medcraft and ex-player Tristan Lenaz.
